About Meggie Lennon

The shimmering world of Montréal artist Meggie Lennon is a delicate canvas of ethereal indie pop and lush soft rock, inviting the listener into a space of reverie, gentleness and introspection. The singer-songwriter's mature songs deal with love, desires, self-acceptance, resilience and the complexities of modern life. Each track is a journey into the soul, enveloping the listener in a cocoon of tender nostalgia, drawing them into a sepia-toned dream, where past and present intertwine harmoniously, creating a comforting atmosphere where one can both reflect and find hope for the days ahead.

After making a name for herself with the indie pop/rock band Abrdeen, Meggie has shared the stage with the likes of Spoon, Good Morning, Fleece, Elephant Stone, The Dears, Julie Doiron, Sugar Candy Mountain, and Laura Sauvage. She has also been invited to such renowned events as Calgary Folk Music Festival, POP Montreal, M for Montreal, and FME, captivating audiences with performances that are both languorous and bewitching. Sought after for her smooth, haunting vocals, Meggie has collaborated with artists including ALIAS, Spaceface, Debbie Tebbs, Lucill, and Super Plage, while pursuing her own music with acclaimed singles such as "Night Shift" and "Mind Games".

Followed the release of her debut album, Sounds From Your Lips, in June 2021 on the Mothland label. Louder than War notes that the album "fuses 60s and early 70s psychedelia to create an indie dream pop vibe", also adding: "The songs are of desire and playful sins, yet they convey a mature take on love in this era of elusive and brittle romance. Occasionally it's a bit spicy too." Punctuated by laid-back melodies, sensual grooves and introspective lyrics, this full-length, produced by Samuel Gemme (Pierre Lapointe, The Brooks, Choses Sauvages) and accompanied by musician Jules Henry (Super Plage) and members of The Besnard Lakes and Elephant Stone, was also hailed by media such as Le Devoir, Exclaim! and The Line of Best Fit. The year culminated in the Espoir 2022 award at the GAMIQ 2021 gala, solidifying her status as an artist to watch.

Meggie Lennon's sophomore album, Desire Days, featuring musicians from celebrated outfits such as Patrick Watson, Teke::Teke, Chocolat, and The Besnard Lakes, along with Quatuor Esca playing arrangements by Antoine Gratton, is slated for release on June 20th, 2025 via Mothland, promising a new chapter in her evolving sound and vision.
